Pre-Arrival

  • The property is best reached by car. It is situated on Seafield Road and there is a driveway to the rear of the
    cottage, and a parking space behind the house. The front door is accessed via the footpath where there is a
    keypad entrance into a shared hallway with 16 stairs up to the first floor with a key safe by the door at
    136cm height.
  • Public transport; the property can be reached by rail, the nearest mainline railway station is 16 miles away.

    Alnwick (18 miles away) has large supermarkets, small independent shops, garages and all the local
    amenities.

Dining Area

  • The dining area is situated in the kitchen with level access via an opening which is 85cm wide and it has a wood floor.
  • The dining room floor is wood and the walls have been decorated in a white colour.
  • Seating around the table is for 4 people, with upright chairs without arms. A wheelchair can easily be pulled up to the table if needed.
  • The dining table has legs on each corner, which are 65cm from floor to lowest point of table (under space) and is 75cm high. Lighting is natural daylight with a mix of ceiling spots/ wall mounted lights.

The harbour offers trips to the Farne Islands for unrivalled bird and wildlife spotting, and Bamburgh, home to a spectacular Grade 1-listed sea-facing castle is just 3.5 miles away and is accessible on foot via the coastal path and beach. Holy Island, the tidal island accessible via a causeway during the right tides, is 18 miles away. Closer to home, guests can explore Seahouse’s independent shops, places to eat and traditional pubs, many within 0.25 miles of the apartment.

With a contemporary interior that surprises and delights at every turn, this single-storey, first-floor apartment is a design lover's dream. Styled by an interior design company, the accommodation comprises a sumptuously furnished living room with full-length windows and double doors that lead out to a balcony. The well-equipped and contemporary kitchen is finished with white granite worktops and features the apartment’s second balcony. The two bedrooms (a super-king-size and a twin) are individually designed, with feature wallpaper and unique furnishings, and each has a private en-suite bathroom.

Outside the apartment, guests have the choice of two elevated balconies, with outdoor tables and chairs. Facing both east and west to ensure a panoramic view of the sea, it’s possible to watch the sunrise and the sunset from the comfort of your own private balcony.

A lovely cosy, comfortable and quiet property with a great sea view. The apartment is very well equipped with good broadband provision. Parking was secure around the back of the apartment block. It's a great base for exploring the Northumberland coast with walks straight from the door. Due to husbands poor mobility, we have booked The Beach Pad for our next holiday as this is the same layout as Saltair, but on the ground floor.

The cleanliness was first class, all the fittings in kitchen & bathrooms were of high quality. The overall standard of the apartment was high including the entrance hall and stairs. Private parking is good to have and the garden was being maintained the morning we left. A balcony front & back is handy to make the most of the sun. The views from the front were looking onto the coast and the location was only 5 min walk from shops and restaurants. I have to give the whole package a five star rating and would recommend to anyone.

Location

Built on the site of the former Seafield seafood restaurant and just set back from the Seahouses to Bamburgh road, Salt Air sits slightly apart from the commercial hub of Seahouses with all of its facilities, such as shops, restaurants and harbour which are only a minute away on foot. Park your car in the gated parking area for your stay as you can easily walk to the beach, the Farne Island boat stops and the private Ocean Leisure Club to which you have membership, as our guest, for the duration of your holiday (small entrance fee applies).
Located just above another Coastal Retreat, The Beach Pad, the two could be booked together for those wanting to holiday together but independently.
