Celebrate in style at Tughall Steads

The former coastal farm steading of Tughall Steads, nestled between Newton and Beadnell, has played host to numerous celebrations from wedding gatherings to milestone birthdays and anniversaries.

So what is so special about Tughall Steads and what makes it great for large gatherings and celebrations?

Oodles of space, with character properties and gardens all in the same locality.

With 8 cottages, sleeping up to 55 if all of them are booked together, Tughall Steads is the place to be for large gatherings.

Different combinations of cottages to suit different sized groups

Even if you don’t have a celebration but just have a large immediate family then there are a number of combinations which would work for a family holiday.

Moo House, sleeping 10/12, can be booked with The Forge – our studio couple’s retreat – to allow grandparents a separate space or a couple in your family who don’t have children and want some private time away from the rest of the group.

The Wood Store and High Mill can sleep up to 16 together, and High Mill’s huge living/dining area means that a large dinner party can be hosted at the venue with ample room for all guests.

Garden Cottage and The Smithy works well for smaller groups of 11 or so, with The Forge just steps away to house an extra couple.

Plenty of outdoor space

All the properties have outdoor space. All, but one, have lawned gardens, some have children’s outdoor play equipment and barbecues, and all have garden furniture.

There are also grassy and tarmacked areas between the cottages where you will often find children playing.

Its’ proximity to coast and country and nearby wedding venue Newton Hall

Tughall Steads is a former 18th Century farmstead – just a mile inland from the beach. It also benefits from surrounding fields and footpaths for cycling or walking.
