Beautiful Retreats in unforgettable locations for the Summer
Why go?
Holidays at Seasalt are fuss free for families. There is so much to entertain the children that you will definitely have the chance to relax, whether that is on the decked area in the private garden or on the comfy Loaf sofas in the Scandinavian chic lounge in the evening. The children will be kept busy in the communal garden with football goal and swings, and the dedicated children’s nook and bedroom inside the cottage means there is plenty to inspire their imaginative play.
Nearest beach
Beadnell Bay, a crescent-shaped beach backed by dunes popular with watersport enthusiasts and young families, is nearest to Seasalt, but the beaches of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Newton are only a 10 minute drive away so you can take your pick.
Cooling off spot
On the window seat of the kitchen with something chilled from the fridge.
Quench your thirst at…
The Craster Arms in Beadnell, or pop across the road to its sister venue, The Saltwater Café for afternoon tea or coffee.
Grab a bite to eat at…
Box Pizza. Wood fired sour dough pizza using locally sourced toppings served from a shipping container at Swinhoe, just by Seasalt.
Don’t go home without…
Trying broomstick training at Alnwick Castle – the home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, and the setting for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. You can also visit the State Rooms and try your hand at some medieval arts and crafts.
Rainy day tip
Use the private membership to The Ocean Club, which comes with your booking, to enjoy a swim in the 20-metre pool or some relaxation in the Jacuzzi, sauna or steam room. A small entry fee applies.
Insider knowledge from owner Carolyn
We love keeping it simple. Load up the Seasalt beach cart with the portable Weber barbecue, some yummy food from SwallowFish in Seahouses or Carters in Bamburgh, the windbreaks, picnic basket and wetsuits, and tire the kids out with beach olympics at Beadnell. Launch the kite, make pebble towers, and don’t forget to fly the handpainted Seasalt flag to mark your spot!
