Choosing a romantic retreat

Friday Evening

Prior to your holiday order some restaurant quality ready meals from Northumberland based Poacher’s Produce for your first-night meal. Impress with a starter of twice baked cheese soufflé and follow with a main of beef bourgignon, dauphinoise potatoes and buttered greens. Finish with a crème brulee or limoncello semifreddo.

We can also have some Champagne chilling in your cottage for your arrival by prior arrangement.

Upon arrival, relax and enjoy your Retreat and your delicious locally made meal.

Saturday Morning/Afternoon

Make the most of your Retreat by enjoying a long lie in before heading out for brunch at the Old Dairy in Ford. Here you can mooch around this concept store, full of architectural antiques and vintage gifts before popping into the onsite coffee shop. The coffee is a must as are their cakes, pies, scones, breads and soups all made on their Aga. If you did not have enough fizz on the Friday night you can also enjoy a glass in their Champagne bar.

Spend the afternoon enjoying a spa treatment and relaxing in the sauna/Jacuzzi at The Ocean Club in Seahouses.

While in Seahouses have a quick walk along the harbour to the Old Town and visit Swallowfish to pick up some Lindisfarne Oysters for Sunday night.

Saturday Evening

Book a meal at The Treehouse in Alnwick for a truly unique experience amongst the branches, roaring fire and twinkly lights that make this a romantic venue not to miss.

Sunday Morning/Afternoon

Enjoy a stunning beach walk from the harbour at Craster, along the rocky coast to the atmospheric ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle before dropping down onto the white sands of Embleton Bay. Walk around the headland to the small village of Low Newton and snuggle up at the cosy Ship Inn.

Sunday Evening

Snuggle up with a DVD in front of the fire and enjoy your oysters.
