Whatever the weather, Bamburgh Coach House’s games room makes a perfect hideout for little and big kids. A self-contained outbuilding, overlooked from the main house, it is heated for colder days and has floor to ceiling windows and doors, which can be thrown open in the summer months. There’s table tennis, table football and a wide range of toys to keep the children amused. It is even perfect for smaller children as parents can keep an eye on them from the lounge or garden. This family-friendly house is also just a five-minute drive from Bamburgh village where there’s a white sandy beach backed by dunes and the iconic Bamburgh Castle – you can even see the castle from the front door!
High Mill indoor games room
High Mill lends itself to family gatherings or friend reunions with its spacious living areas, large garden and indoor games room with TV and pool table. It underwent a small renovation for 2018 to add an ensuite shower room, taking the number of bath/shower rooms to four to equal the number of bedrooms, and ensure that holidays here have the right combination of private and socialising spaces. Sleeping 10, there are some lovely walks across the countryside from High Mill’s door and Beadnell Bay is a short drive away for watersports and the beach.
The front of Moo House – Cow Shed games room and play garden to the rear
More than just a games room, Moo House’s Cow Shed is a separate building from the main house and a fantastic fun space to watch movies, play games, read and hang out. It has a small pool table, table football, air hockey, TV and books, and the fun doesn’t stop there – there is also a play garden to the rear with swings, a sand pit, table tennis and a football goal. Moo House is one of our best entertaining Retreats as it caters to a wide range of ages, whether you are a party of children and adults or just a group of girls. We particularly love the dining kitchen with its large dining table, lounge with log burner and ample seating.
North Star House cinema room
North Star House should come with a warning; that you might never want to leave. One of our most exclusive Retreats, this detached house for 12 has a high-end interior, great sea views and is located in Bamburgh village. The beach and castle are easily accessible, but if your agenda is just to chill, you’ll find a detached games room with table tennis, around an acre of garden space and a cinema room with a 65-inch flat screen TV all within the grounds of this five-bedroom Retreat.
